Conventional Fire Alarm System:
This is the most commonly used and simplest fire detection and alarm system and provides a common alarm for one complete zone. It consists of conventional detectors for detection of fire and manual call point for manually activating the alarm , and sounders/hooters for generating audible alarm.
Addressable Systems:
Addressable Systems consist of detectors which have a specific address assigned to them and in the event of fire the fire alarm panel is able to locate and notify the location of the fire by reading the address of the detector which has detected the fire. The primary difference between Addressable and Conventional Systems is that the conventional system is able to identify the zone in which fire has occurred whereas the addressable system is able to clearly locate the detector which has generated the alarm. In addition to the detectors, manual call point and sounders/hooters the addressable systems uses various kinds of modules for communicating with, and controlling related utility equipment ( e.g. Air conditioning, exhaust systems, access control.)
